Mexico World Factbook Process
For this project, I am going to create Mexico world factbook. All the text sources are from CIA World Factbook.
<Research>
These are my mind map, mood boards and thumbnail sketches for my conception of the factbook. The font that I am going to use for this book is called Bookman Old Style. This font is a same font as I used for the branding guideline.

This is a mind map for the Mexico factbook.

Mood Board - Colors
For the colors, I will be used bright colors such as orange, yellow, green, and sky blue to bring and show a mood of Mexico.

Mood Board - Layout and design components
I will be used a layout that has repetitive design and well-arranged. I am going to use four different geometric shapes as a design components in my overall design. These geometric shapes will belong to my Mexico tourism logo: Circle, triangle, arrow shape, and line. I am also going to placed some simple illustration, line, and charts/tables to look visually full and fun.

Thumbnail Sketches of Spread and Cover
These are my thumbnail sketches for the some specific spreads and cover based on the research above.
<Draft - First Design>
These are the image of spreads of my first design for the factbook. All the images are on progress level, so they are not done at this point.

For my first design, I used different fonts for the heading and body copy. Also, I used vivid color of large vector illustrations and I used two columns. All the body copy layout is straight, repetitive, and typed in the same width of box shapes.
<Draft - Second Design>
These are the screenshots of my second design while I was working on it.

For my second design, I used same design from the first design for some of the spread. However, I changed the number of columns to three. Also, I put all the title pages to stay in left side and I tried to placed all the title and first page in a similar layout. As I wanted to use some geometric shapes from the logo as my design components in the book, I placed them more in the second design. I also changed all the font to be same as the font that I used for branding guideline.

This is my cover design which is a draft.
<Final Design>
These are my final design of Mexico factbook.

The final design developed based on the second design. I added contents page, bibliography spread, and about designer page. I added more colors and made them brighter and I placed more photographs too. At the last point, I placed around the design components to look more interesting.

Final Cover Design
This is my final design for the front and back cover of the book.
